Organisations have a responsibility to:
provide a transparent and equitable selection process, see Equitable Application Processes
acknowledge, consult with, and seek consent from Traditional Custodians in person and online, as appropriate, see First Nations
consider, communicate, plan and, where feasible, ensure accessibility (see Access Rights for d/Deaf and Disabled People) and cultural safety (see Racial Equity and Representation) of physical and online spaces
meet legal obligations in workplace health and safety (see Workplace Health and Safety), tax (see Taxation), superannuation (see Superannuation), intellectual property (see Intellectual Property) and Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property (see First Nations)
provide Covid safety provisions
provide safety training and equipment, as required
provide appropriate orientation and support to artists
broker relationships between artists and local communities
Artists have a responsibility to:
observe safety requirements and workplace codes of conduct
consider the needs of community members from First Nations, d/Deaf, Disabled and underrepresented backgrounds
undergo criminal record or Working With Children checks, if necessary
sign agreements (e.g. patient confidentiality), if necessary
Agreements should:
outline financial and in-kind support to be provided
outline accessibility and access provisions of the residency
outline expectations of each party in terms of outcomes and time commitments
outline payment schedule and duration of the arrangement
outline processes for termination and contingencies
outline intellectual property arrangements
stipulate responsibility for theft, loss or damage insurance
allocate responsibilities for documentation and evaluation
