  • allocate staff and budget, and plan your approach to creating an equitable application and selection process 

  • reach out to diverse networks to advertise your opportunity

  • be transparent about your criteria and process

  • ensure all information and the application process is accessible in a range of formats

  • ensure decision-makers are representative of diverse groups, especially for related opportunities

  • train and support the selection panel in expectations and processes

  • set aside personal biases and hold fellow decision-makers to account

  • keep records of all decisions

  • provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants

  • monitor and evaluate the equity of your program over time
