Climate Adaptation and Environmental Action

Summary of Good Practice Recommendations

All parties have a responsibility to:

  • take an intersectional and human-rights based approach to issues of climate adaptation and justice

  • place First Nations first in responding to environmental issues and climate adaptation

Organisations have a responsibility to:

  • develop an Environmental Justice Policy detailing the organisation’s actions, including in the areas of sponsorship, funding, project planning, energy, materials, travel and digital impacts 

  • make the Environmental Justice Policy transparent and accessible in the interests of accountability

  • monitor and evaluate the Environmental Justice Policy 

  • have an ethical sponsorship policy in place to ensure that any sponsorship and funding aligns with the organisation’s values, see Sponsorship

  • ensure that any investments or financial services aligns with the organisation’s values

Artists have a responsibility to:

  • ensure that any work, collaborations or projects undertaken align with their values in the areas of sponsorship, funding, project planning, energy, materials, travel and digital impacts. Refer to pvi collective's Code of Ethics Framework and Template for an example

  • consider providing a green rider to collaborators, detailing their requests in line with environmental justice and adaptation

  • ensure that any investments or financial services align with their values
