Festivals

• Is there flexibility with contracting and timeline changes?

• Is there transparency around expectations of artist, company and festival?

• Are the resources provided adequate to the time and scale of the work?

• Have artists been given a clear outline of finances, travel, production, access and timelines?

• Has staged contracting been considered for new or commissioned works? 

• Has there been a meeting or information session to discuss the agreement and allow for deeper conversations and questions between both parties?

• Has the festival budgeted for additional accessibility costs, in case the artist/s have accessibility requirements for participation?

Artists

• Are you being adequately paid for your time?

• Are the responsibilities of the festival clear to you?

• Have you requested information on festival funding sources if this has not been made clear to you, e.g. resources industry, sponsorship, government or local council?

• Have you provided the festival with your Access Rider outlining your requirements for participation?

• Is the agreement clear and does it protect your interests?

• Have you provided the festival with your Green Rider and requisition information on the environmental impact of the project and how it is being off-set?

• Have you included special clauses for project or artist-specific requirements in your agreement?
