Development


Pay artist first project milestone on signing of contract   

Finalise project budget

Work with artist to develop the concept into a feasible artwork with an anticipated design life

Brief design and construction team and internal stakeholders to collaborate with the artist

Provide a detailed design package with necessary elevations and documentation

Approve artwork design, engineering and procurement 

Examine scope

Articulate access needs

Agree on project timelines

Prepare detailed artwork budget

Submit invoice

Consult stakeholders

Engage subcontractors

Prepare detailed designs, material samples and prototypes

Risk evaluation and initial structural certification of design

Regular reporting to Commissioner

Communicate any project delays or necessary variations

Fabrication,
Installation
and Handover

Payments as per agreed schedule 

Evaluation of completed artwork, assessment of defects

Review of Structural

Certification 

Confirmation of installation time-frames 

Prepare site for installation 

Attribution plaque installed

Maintenance Manual or Plan approved

Structural Certification complete

Final payment, including Defects Liability

Provide access information

Promote the project, and properly acknowledge the artist

Detailed design package and shop drawings completed

Provide all fabrication details and specialist fabricators to be used and final artwork budget 

Progress reports to accompany payment milestones

Structural review of artwork

Site evaluation and safe work method statements, accessibility statements etc.

Confirmation of installation time-frames

Transport and install the artwork

Approve attribution signage

Provide final certifications – Structural, Australian Standards, warranties

Preparation of Maintenance and Conservation Plan

Rectify defects
