Prizes generate huge interest in the arts and benefit the industry as a whole, but they are also held to very high scrutiny. It’s critical that selection processes meet high standards of good practice, including equity, representation and accessibility.
This section covers good practice for the organisation of visual arts, craft and design awards, prizes and competitions in Australia. This includes the application and judging process and checklists for terms and conditions. This section can be used by artists who enter awards, prizes and competitions, as well as organisers and those considering setting up a new award, prize or competition.
